Halee Miller is currently a senior at Iowa State University studying journalism and mass communications with a minor in design studies. With passions in writing, design, photography, wellness, agriculture, and food—she’s looking to use all of them to move people and what they're passionate about forward, too.
With coursework in journalism, typography, magazine layout, food and portrait photography, English, art history, and writing for publications like Better Homes and Gardens, TREND magazine, Cardinal Eats, and The Forum—she’s well rounded in her journalistic experiences.

Work Experience
Miller has a substantial amount of real-world experience from her time as a current apprentice at Better Homes and Gardens, being a Mortarr marketing intern and staff writer as well as a corporate communications intern at Fortune 500 Company, Hormel Foods. She has been published in TREND Magazine while working on the lifestyle editorial committee and is now the Editorial Director for Cardinal Eats Magazine. Both publications are student-run on Iowa State University's campus.
Education and Coursework
While at Iowa State University and studying abroad in Florence, Italy, Miller has taken, and is currently taking, intensive coursework to better her skills as a future journalist and creative through food and portrait photography, graphic design, journalism law and ethics, and writing and reporting courses.
Personal Work
In the summer of 2022, Miller founded her business, Halee J Creative. Offering portrait photography for couples, seniors, families, newborns, and more, she also plans to expand her services to help small businesses market their businesses with product and food photography, headshots, website design and copywriting.
